Who is Consumers Glass? What is Glassworks? The Idea Centre Bulletin Board

Welcome to the Idea Centre!

Enter BBS

The Idea Centre is intended to facilitate exchange between stakeholders in the recycling community for sharing challenges and opportunity, and successes and failures on container glass and multi-material recycling issues. It is a peer to peer exchange, open to anyone that has a question to ask or information to share.

Participation is easy, just click onto the topic or "thread" that interests you and reply to the message. Your email will be posted immediately. To see it, you must refresh your connection to the site through whatever process your browser has. You can also initiate threads by posting a new message.

The Idea Centre is specifically designed to be accessible to anyone at any time - as long as you have access to the net be it through work, home, your local library or Internet café. You can come on day or night and post. People coming into the Idea Centre can respond to questions as they choose.

This is not an emergency number, you may not get a response immediately. Glass Works does not control the timing of a response nor do we guarantee that someone will respond. People come on when it is convenient to their work schedule and respond as they wish. Glass Works is just enabling the exchange through our site.

Periodically Glass Works will clear the BBS, take the information, condense it into a report and post it under the Tool Box. We are not going to break the thread of a hot and heavy discussion. When there is a lull in the conversation or when a new thread takes stakeholders' interests to a new issue to address, we will pop in to clean up the site.

We have asked a number of people to help initiate the site, special thanks to the following:
Geoff Rothbone from CSR: Corporations Supporting Recycling, Toronto, Ontario
Mary Little from Northumberland County, Grafton, Ontario
Christine Lucyk, a consultant for Halton Recycling, Toronto, Ontario
C Robert Kirby from CWC/PNWER, Seattle, Washington
Peter Robinson from NexCycle Industries Ltd., Guelph, Ontario
Dan Swerhone from REACT Waste Management District, Humboldt, Saskatchewan
Rick Pederson from the Town of Outlook, Saskatchewan
Doug Symington from Consumers Glass, Toronto, Ontario

We hope that you will find this exchange of value. Send us ideas or information requests that you think will make www.glassworks.org help you make glass recycling work!
