Market Expansion - CSR Glass Task Group Update

CSR facilitates this meeting of minds to foster innovative ideas that lead to practical solutions for recycling mixed coloured glass. There are two projects under different stages of development. One is an equipment trial for the mixed glass collected by some programmes. Currently the Task Group is working with the City of Toronto and the Regions of Peel, Niagara and Halton to investigate the potential to crush and screen mixed glass using a mobile unit. The manufacturer is Minpro, whose experience hails from the mining industry.

Secondly, under consideration by Unical, one of the key glass processors in Canada, is an Ontario-based plant for crushing glass to supply the sandblasting industry. Unical is seeking guaranteed supply contracts before the project can proceed.

For details on either project contact Geoff Rathbone, Vice-president of Market and Technical Development at CSR. Phone: 416-594-3456; e-mail: rathbone@csr.org
