| The site is an interactive communication network, sponsored by Consumers Glass, for stakeholders of the recycled glass supply chain in Canada. It started out as Glass Works, a periodic hardcopy newsletter back in 1990, but has evolved over the years to become an online system for sharing ideas and information.
It now encompasses:
- What's new? - The glass container industry is undergoing changes and is committed to keep its stakeholders informed on the changes in the business activities that affect the recycled glass supply chain in Canada on a continual basis.
- Glassworks/Recy-Verre - is now a bulletin e-mailed to interested parties by request (click here to request your own electronic copy) that serves to keep its stakeholders informed. Glassworks is working to convert the database of its 8,500 readers that used to receive the printed copy to e-mail, so our readers remain connected to current events. We have come a long way since our first paper version in 1990 when we had only 400 readers. The newsletter is available in French and English.
- Glass Markets - information about processors of container glass in Canada, and links to technical information about recycling container glass.
- Statistics - Consumers Glass continues to report on the results of their activities in supporting multi-material recycling and the glass recycling system in Canada. Historical data is posted that shows Consumers Glass long standing involvement in Canada.
- Links - specific hot links to other organisations around the world that are involved with container glass recycling, processing and related waste management issues.
- The IDEA Centre - an interactive exchange for supporting innovation and solutions for glass recycling best practices and multi-material recycling systems. More innovation is needed to improve container glass recycling. Post your challenges and your ideas for continual improvement here.
- Product Stewardship - information supplied by Consumers Glass on their commitment to container glass recycling, multi-material recycling systems, environmental issues related to container glass, and information on policy and technical issues affecting container glass.
- Consumers Glass - Canada's only manufacturer of container glass, this company has invested in working with other stakeholders to improve the recycling of container glass and other materials.
- Tool Box - contains information on measurement tools or new approaches to environmental challenges facing packaging materials and stakeholders in waste management.
